Red Aisle
2023
Installation

The piece is an entering initiation into my continuously experienced notion of restriction, suffocation, stuckness, and an accompanying healing and adaptation process in the current age of an over-saturated and rapidly evolving world. The narrow aisle, situated within a classroom, actualizes and stimulates the physical response of these feelings, distorting the surroundings and disrupting mundane space that initiates new critical perceptions of the world through wrinkled redness. The felt frizziness from the wrap material when inside the aisle submerges the viewers within the work, further altering perception by activating the senses. The action of walking through the aisle resonates with rebirth through entering and exiting the world, creating a space beyond the daily site.
